Edmonton Onsite POS Hardware, Cabling & Setup

Connect your counter, kitchen and back office with a coordinated deployment of POS hardware, network cabling and compatible peripherals. The Tech Techy scopes the physical installation around your payment provider, store layout and operating hours.

Independent installation support. Platform compatibility, subscription requirements and service availability are confirmed before work is approved.

Supported POS ecosystems: compatibility comes first

We plan hardware and network installation for businesses using Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Shopify POS and Toast, subject to your platform's supported devices, Canadian availability and provider requirements. Share the exact terminal, printer and account configuration so we can confirm what can be installed locally and what requires your vendor.

Square & Shopify POS

Plan compatible terminal placement, connectivity, supported receipt printers, barcode readers and cash drawers around your retail workflow. Merchant onboarding and payment approval remain with your provider.

Clover & Lightspeed

Review supported peripherals, router connections and terminal layout. Account permissions, inventory settings and integration access are confirmed with your authorized administrator.

Toast & Restaurant Workflows

Scope approved hardware, front-of-house connections, kitchen printers and restaurant network requirements. Vendor-managed provisioning and restricted configurations remain with the platform's authorized support team.

The physical-to-digital edge

Hardwired Cat6 network stability

Where supported, wired Ethernet reduces dependence on busy guest Wi-Fi. We scope Cat6 runs, switch ports, labeled terminations and separation of business and guest traffic with the existing network administrator.

Receipt printers & cash drawers

Configure compatible thermal receipt printers, connection settings and print routing. Check cash drawer interface and voltage compatibility before connection, then test permitted open-drawer actions.

Barcode scanning & multi-terminal sync

Test supported scanners and sample product lookups. Confirm that terminals can reach the platform, then verify authorized inventory and order syncing within the limits of the merchant's subscription and configuration.

Handover includes the approved device list, connection labels, test results and a walkthrough of routine checks. We do not collect, store or request cardholder data to perform installation.

Explore commercial network cabling

Dual-WAN cellular failover for ISP outages

A supported dual-WAN router can switch from the primary ISP to an active cellular connection when a link fails. We scope compatible equipment, carrier coverage, data limits, health checks and access rules, then test a controlled loss of the primary connection.

Resilience with clear limits

Failover reduces disruption; it cannot guarantee uninterrupted payments. Switching may interrupt sessions, and processing still depends on carrier coverage, power, the payment provider and the terminal's supported connection methods. Provider offline-payment features have their own limits and merchant risks.

The project can include a documented failover test, a return-to-primary test and recommendations for power continuity. Cellular service, data charges, routers and backup power are separately quoted.

Transparent POS deployment pricing

Approved onsite labour starts at $80 + GST with a first-hour minimum. Deployment tiers describe scope; they are not fixed project prices. Before dispatch, you receive a written quote covering labour, materials, access, travel where applicable and any scheduled outage.

Single-Counter Setup

From $80 + GST onsite

Assessment and approved labour for one counter using compatible existing hardware and network connections. Additional time, parts, new runs and account configuration are quoted before approval.

Multi-Terminal Deployment

Written deployment quote

Multiple counters or kitchen stations, printer routing, barcode checks, switch capacity, cable work and platform syncing. Device count and the agreed work window determine the labour estimate.

Emergency Dispatch

Dispatch quote before attendance

Contact us with the fault, affected devices and trading deadline. Availability, response window, dispatch fee and any after-hours rate are confirmed before dispatch. No guaranteed arrival or restoration time is implied.

Hardware, platform subscriptions, carrier plans and payment processing fees are additional. A remote review may identify work that must be completed by your POS provider.

A deployment planned around trading hours

Assess, approve, install and test

We confirm the device inventory, required permissions, network layout and acceptable downtime. Installation begins after scope approval. Controlled tests cover connectivity, compatible peripherals and the merchant-authorized payment test procedure, followed by a handover.

Serving Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park. Larger or out-of-area projects are assessed individually. Scheduling depends on access, hardware availability and vendor coordination.

POS installation questions

Can you change my payment provider or merchant account?

Merchant contracts, account approval and processing terms belong to your payment provider. We coordinate the local hardware and network work within the permissions you authorize.

Can you reuse my existing printer or cash drawer?

We check exact model compatibility and connection requirements before quoting reuse. Matching connectors alone do not establish compatibility.

Will cellular failover prevent every payment interruption?

No. We test the network failover path, but payment availability also depends on the terminal, payment platform, carrier coverage and power.

Guaranteed 30-Day Labour Warranty

Our labour warranty is exactly 30 days from completion of the applicable repair or installation. If the same issue caused by covered work recurs within those 30 days, re-inspection and re-servicing carry zero labour fees and zero diagnostic re-fee for that covered recurrence.

Replacement hardware and components carry their own full applicable manufacturer warranties. New or unrelated faults, new damage, third-party changes and work outside the approved scope are covered by the service terms. Software project acceptance, support and change requests are defined in the written project agreement; this labour warranty does not promise ongoing software maintenance.
