A 14-inch screen is not automatically interchangeable with another 14-inch screen. Resolution, connector position, refresh rate, mounting and touch support must match.

Cracked glass, ink-like marks and damage after an impact may require a replacement panel or assembly. A black screen, flickering image or lines can also come from a damaged display cable, connector, backlight circuit or motherboard. We assess the fault before recommending a new screen. Tell us whether the image changes when you move the lid and whether an external monitor works.
Touchscreen, Chromebook and gaming screen replacement
Touchscreens may combine the LCD and digitizer in one assembly. On-cell touch panels require a compatible touch-enabled replacement. Gaming displays also need the correct resolution and refresh-rate support. MacBook and bonded display assemblies may require more extensive replacement work. We confirm the available part and explain any differences before you approve it.

The panel type, touch capability, resolution, refresh rate, assembly design and any hinge or lid damage affect the total. Send the model from the underside label or original box and a photo of the screen. Diagnostics start at $60 + GST and are credited toward an approved repair. Screen parts and installation are quoted for your model; the total and applicable taxes are confirmed before work begins.
Display and hinge checks before pickup
The agreed repair includes checks of the image, brightness and display stability, with touch testing when applicable. We also inspect lid movement and visible hinge damage. A damaged hinge or lid can put stress on a new panel and may need a separately approved repair.

Will I lose my files?

Can you replace a touchscreen with a regular screen?
Only if the device supports a suitable alternative and you approve the loss of touch functionality. We do not assume a non-touch panel is compatible.

Send display details before ordering a panel
Two laptops with the same family name may use different display assemblies. Send the full model, any visible part label and whether the screen is touch-enabled. Resolution, connector, refresh rate and mounting all affect compatibility.
If an external display still works, mention that in your enquiry. It helps describe the symptom but does not prove the internal panel is the only fault. Cable, hinge and connector checks may still be needed.
